Target Try-On: busting those baby blues

Sometimes I stand in my closet and just cry. Actually I don’t, but I want to scream because I have nothing to wear. Basically I live in the same three pairs of sweatpants and a slightly larger rotation of sweatshirts, except for when I’m at the gym in athletic wear. I have an entire drawer of Columbia graphic tees, and a handful of PFG sunshirts. I actually finally feel good about the number of jeans in my drawer right now, but you’ll never guess what’s under my sweater because it’s probably pajamas.

Finding time to refresh your wardrobe as a new mom can feel impossible, and trust me when I agree with you. Is it even worth it to get dressed in the morning, if you’re just gunna get spit up on and end up in loungewear again? With a baby under a year old, comfort and versatility are at the top of my list when shopping for clothes. That’s why I headed to Target to try on some new pieces to fluff up my wardrobe.

Having pieces that easily mix and match can make mornings so much easier, especially when also trying to get the big kid ready for school and wrestle the baby doing alligator rolls during diaper changes. You don’t need a full capsule wardrobe to simplify your outfits, and you don’t need to toss everything you already have. Just grab a few versatile staples that work well together. Neutral colors, classic fits, and comfortable fabrics are great starting points. By choosing tops and bottoms that complement each other, you can create multiple outfits without overthinking it.

Scroll down to check out the outfits I put together, see photos of each look, and shop the items directly through my affiliate links. I’ve included everything from comfy tees to stylish shirts and versatile pants to help you feel put-together without sacrificing comfort.

I hope these outfits give you some inspiration to refresh your closet and feel confident as you tackle life with a little one. Don’t forget to click the links to shop any of the pieces you love! Outfit Details: ribbed boat neck sweater | midrise utility cargo pants

I’m wearing a M shirt here, but left with a L. I loved the stripes, but ended up going with the red. The pants are a size 4.

Outfit Details: ribbed boat neck sweater |high rise ankle cargo pants

I am wearing a size S in the pants.

Outfit Details: DARE graphic tee|high rise ankle cargo pants

The graphic tee is a unisex tee, but I still chose a medium and tucked it.

Outfit Details: ribbed boat neck sweater | midrise 80s jeans

I wanted to love these jeans but they were way too tight in my tummy. I wore a size 4, which I could squeeze into but wasn’t comfy. The length was ok, but I would have bought a 6 if I bought it. I couldnt run back and trade out, since I had the baby with me.

Outfit Details: KISS tee|midrise 80s jeans| oversized flannel

This graphic tee is women’s fit, and I’m wearing a size Small. The flannel had so many plaid color options, but I’m wearing a solid white in size Small.
